Store Policies


We accept the following forms of payment:

We accept layby/installments on a case by case basis:

  • Fortnightly or monthly
  • Maximum time frame of 2 months

A 15% non-refundable deposit will be needed to initiate the installment plan.


All items for sale have been carefully assessed prior to being on sale and have been repaired/restored.

Ring Sizing

We offer free sizing on most of our rings. If the ring has a continuous pattern, continuous gemstones/diamonds, or if the ring has to change more than 3 sizes, please contact us so we confirm that sizing is possible. Please make note of the size you need your ring to be during the checkout process, in-store or contact us before ordering.

If you need to have your ring sized, please allow 5-6 business days before shipment. Please contact us first if you need the ring by a certain date, and we will work with you to meet your needs.

Other Repairs

If you require a repair to a chain, necklace or bracelet, please make note of the repair during the checkout process, in-store or contact us before ordering.

Returns and exchanges

As every item is unique, please choose carefully before you purchase any piece of jewellery. We want you to love your purchase and enjoy wearing it. If you purchase an item and decide it's not what you had in mind, you can exchange it within 15 days. The 15 day exchange period begins the day you receive/collect your purchase.

All exchanged items must be in the same condition as it was sent to you. No jewellery will be accepted for exchange if it is damaged, altered or worn. We also offer a 1 year store credit exchange policy for any item in the store.

Shipping & Delivery

All items shipped within New Zealand are sent using New Zealand Courier Post. Items are carefully packaged in a tracked signature required bag and are fully insured.

For overseas shipping, parcels are sent with DHL Express and are also fully insured.

Please allow a processing time of 2 business days for all regular, non-custom items. Custom items (sizing or other repair) have a 5-7 business day processing time.

If you require an item before a certain date, please get in touch with us and we will do our best to meet your needs.

Please Note

We are unable to redirect orders once items have been dispatched. All items are fully insured and sent at the risk of Wellington Jewellery Valuations (trading as Hidden Gems). Once dispatched, tracking details will be provided via email. All orders require a signature upon receipt. We do not ship on Saturdays or Sundays. We do not ship to a postal box address.

Customs & Duty taxes

We have no authority over a local country's customs department. Some governments require duty to be paid on goods imported into the country. The customer is responsible for paying this duty.

Usually your country will have a website or customs office providing you with the relevant rates. Otherwise get in touch with us and we are happy to look into it for you.

Further partial restrictions on importation of items such as ours exist in specific countries. Please contact us to make sure your country does not fit into this bracket.

Our Guarantee

We only sell items that we believe are of genuine quality and of antique or vintage era. We provide a Certificate of Authenticity with every purchase to ensure you have peace of mind and that you are happy with your purchase.

Where applicable, we will clearly state the age and/or origin of our jewellery so you know as much about it as we do. The provenance and history of a piece of jewellery is part of its unique character.

Antique and Vintage jewellery does not look brand new. That’s part of its charm. The more you take care of a vintage or antique piece of jewellery, the longer that charm and elegance will last.
